Back in Costa Rica
Really just some random notes
The youth group is on a mission trip to Costa Rica. 10 yoots and 5 adults. We will be doing some repair and construction at a youth camp in the mountains. The goal is to help the ministry here do their ministry!
The ministry here is called AMCA, an acronym, which in English would be Association of English-Speaking Missionaries. It is basically a youth ministry for missionary kids, families here on business, Costa Rican kids who want to practice English… it is a great ministry that Jessie, Nadia, and I enjoy investing in!
Long day of travel. Flight left Lexington early, so we had the peeps sleep at the church, to be ready to roll. There was a shooting near the church around 2 a.m., so that was a little disturbing. We rolled out on the bus… thank you Kristy for showing up that early to drive us!
Lexington to Chicago, Chicago to Houston, Houston to San Jose. The kids did great. We took some card games, had some good times talking. I found out that in the parlance of the youth these days, I am “chopped” and “unc.” That means so cool and super hip. Right? Right, guys? That’s what it means, right? Guys?
We are at the AMCA house in San Jose, slow day after travel. We head out tomorrow to the camp. Keep the prayers coming. I am very proud of this group of kids… big hearts to serve. When they come back, they will be doing evangelistic follow-up from VBS. The past 2 mission trips with YWAM really primed them for that kind of outreach. Now we are in more of a 1 Corinthians 16 mode, serving the servants.
Some book recommendations:
Answers to Prayer by George Mueller
His Thought Said… His Father Said, by Amy Carmichael.
Edges of His Ways, by Amy Carmichael
Remarkable Conversions, by H.C. Morrison
Finally, pray that we have wisdom as a church, and partners with neighboring churches, to help our neighborhood. The violence needs to stop.

Prayers for you and the yoots ! God bless!
