We have such wonderful services! Often people will come to the altar during our time of praise. Today was like that. As we were praising God through a beautiful song, “O Come to the Altar,” I was praying for a particular person, hoping they would be healed. I went to the altar and continued in prayer there. And then I had a deep impression, “someone will be healed today.” I did not know if it meant here, now, next week, somewhere else, was He just letting me know of His power to heal? The Lord brought many faces to my mind. I seemed to hear Him say, “which one?” I immediately knew to let the Lord choose. I got up and came back to my pew and told Jessie, “someone is supposed to be healed.” I was very emotional about it. (To be honest, I still wanted Him to heal the person I was praying for!) I told our assistant pastor Michael. Then I knew I had to tell Sarah our worship leader. And praise God, a woman came forward. She had been praying for healing during our singing.
What a powerful moment! A number of people came forward to pray with us. It felt like heaven came down.
I wish I had more words that I could tell about this. It feels like I should have more to say, something more clear. I had to come straight home and go to sleep. I was overcome by the emotion of it all, the power of it.
Come, Lord Jesus. Come, Holy Spirit. Have your way with us, Lord.
Aaron I really enjoy your post.
